What do I do when I am afraid to chase my dreams?

When the image of a man-eating beast travels through the optic nerve and into the visual cortex, the brain sends the body an urgent message: run! That’s what normal people do, but not lion chasers. Rather than seeing a five-hundred-pound problem, they see an opportunity for God to show up and show His power.

• The only way to be used by God to your full potential is to chase lions.

• God-sized dreams often seem impossible: because that’s what they’re supposed to be without his help!

• Too often, you lose out on the full dream God’s given you because you choose to chase kittens instead of the lion God put in front of you.

• God is more interested in your obedience than in your success.

• The only way to start chasing the dream God’s given you is to put one foot in front of the other.

• Count the cost, and then add the power of God into the equation.

• Action Steps:

  • Commit to chase your God-given destiny. Don’t be ruled by fear, be ruled by the power of God.

What role do I play in people coming to Jesus?

• Every believer has been given a mission by God to advance his kingdom and bring home his lost children.

• Paul’s four steps of salvation:

  • 4) Everyone who calls on Jesus will be saved.

  • 3) They must believe the message of the Gospel.

  • 2) They must hear the message from somewhere.

  • 1) Someone needs to share the message.

    • God has given YOU the responsibility to share the message!

• We will share the good news with others when we have a missional mindset, not a selfish one.

Do Christians Really Need to Go to Church?

The Main Points:

• Jesus provided the way for you to be in a close, loving relationship with God.
• You may be tempted to think, with all this access to God, you can go it alone.
• Stay with the group! Don't try to follow Jesus by yourself
  • 1 Peter 5:8 - the devil is like a lion, seeking someone to devour.
  • Rather than attending church on a come-and-go basis, you should strive to be connected to an authentic, godly community.
• Action Steps:
  • Make church a top priority each week--Don't "squeeze it in"!
  • Develop deeper relationships with Jesus and other believers by joining a Community Group.

We Are the Church: A Part of the Whole Body of Christ

• In the body of Christ, everyone has a role, and no role is too small.
• Too often, you miss out on the purpose God has for you because you are looking inward instead of outward.
• Jesus modelled the ultimate act of serving others for their benefit and for God's glory, and he taught that we are to follow his example.
  • Action Step: All believers should actively seek to serve the body of Christ (ie, the Church). We must serve, not sit!
